At the beginning of the day, we made scripts to educate different age groups on different animals. We choose a Velocoraptor. Crazy, I know, but it were at least able to educate people on it. I'll leave our script at the bottom.
We went on a field trip to 'The Narrows' where we were split into two groups and explored different parts of the woods. In the first group we learned about different plants and birds along the path we took. Through out the woods, we saw Lesser Selendine, Stingy Nettle, Jewel Plant, Sickamore Tree, Honey Suckle, and Poison Ivy. We even saw a Horse Fly larva, I thought it looked like a Caterpillar. When switching places with the second group, we learned about the Little Miami River, and how to keep it clean.
We even took Ph tests from the water along with the temperature, they came out healthy, by the way! Before leaving went to the nature center, where we were able to get a close up view of some of the wild life. We got a live demonstration of the inner workings of a river and its makeup. Before we left, they took out a Black Rat Snake for us to observe and even pet! Before we left some of us were even able to hold the snake, including me!
I feel the the first part in the very beginning where we were walking through the woods. Everyone was very quiet, and you could hear all the noises around us, I was even able to clear my mind for once out there which I rarely do since I'm always moving. It was very relaxing sand beautiful out there and I cant wait for us to go back! ,
Age Group: 14- Adult
Animal: Velociraptor
Sidney (Narrator 1): Hello, and welcome to the Dino Show! The dinosaur we will be dealing with today is……… the Velociraptor!!
*Shows Velociraptor*
Shariah: The Velociraptor is a carnivore type dinosaur that lived during the later Cretaceous Period, approx. 75 to 71 million years ago.
Sidney: That’s right! Velociraptors are approx. 7 ft tall and 180 lbs, even though they were shown to be larger in the Jurassic Park movies. They also have three strongly curved claws! These claws are used to tear flesh apart or restrain their victims.
Shariah: Here is an unsuspecting victim we told should come for a Jurassic World commercial since the movie’s coming out soon. She thinks she is only acting, but unfortunately, there may be a turn of events for her.
*Maryam walks in*
Maryam: Oh look! A dinosaur! It looks so real!
Shariah: Well it may be, it might not be. Why don’t you pet it and find out?
Maryam: Wow I can pet it?!?!?!?!? Sweet!!!!!
*Maryam walks up to the Velociraptor, wondering if it’s real or not. She reaches it out and tries to pet her……..*
*Whatever Alese decides to do*
*Shariah and Sidney stare out the incident with interest and slight disgust.*
Sidney: Well….that’s it for today’s episode of the Dino Show! We hoped you enjoyed it!
*Shariah and Sidney wave to the camera while Alese continues eating Maryam in the background*
